Circular Dutch Mission 2024

From the 12th to the 14th of March 2024, the Circular Change team and 12 representatives of the Zasavje region (the region in just transition from coal) spent their days circling the Netherlands. The Circular Dutch Mission 2024 was organized in partnership with Route Circulair, led by Guido Braam, CEO, and Circular Change Honorary Council member, who warmly welcomed us with his team.

The goal of the mission was to explore cutting-edge circular economy practices, tools, and strategies, with a focus on discovering potential synergies for partnerships to drive sustainable development in Slovenia.

DAY 1: The Hague

A warm reception at the Slovenian Embassy by H.E. Jožef Drofenik paved the way for concrete collaboration in the context of the circular transition between Slovenia and the Netherlands. Potential collaboration areas identified include agrifood systems, space technology, manufacturing, and business model innovation.

DAY 2: Utrecht

Best practices were exchanged with Route Circulair, presentations on support instruments offered by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency for bilateral exchange were provided, innovative circular solutions were presented by Innoboost, and inspiring ideas were shared by Nederlandse Spoorwegen.

DAY 3: Rotterdam and Delft

Valuable learnings were gathered from exemplary initiatives such as BlueCity and The Green Village, highlighting the transformative potential of circular entrepreneurship and innovation.

As we embark on the next phase of our journey, the focus remains on collaboration and implementation. We invite stakeholders interested in co-creating concrete projects with us to join our efforts toward realizing a circular future.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all individuals and organizations who contributed to making this circular journey possible. Your dedication and support have been instrumental in shaping the success of the Circular Dutch Mission 2024.
